The history of Valentine’s day entails the story of Saint Valentine, who was imprisoned in Rome for marrying young couples in love, during a time that marriage was illegal. During his time in jail, Valentine sent letters to a young girl he was in love with, and signed them ‘from your Valentine’.  This was the start to what would become a tradition followed everywhere.
